Did you miss IFMA World Workplace 2017? Not a problem. We put together some highlights from our time in Houston.
Between meeting with publishers like Facility Executive, FacilitiesNet and Facility Manager, hosting three learning sessions, and talking to facility professionals, we enjoyed the opportunity to share industry insights. Before I get into the highlights though, congratulations to the 3 people who won iPad minis visiting our booth or attending one of our 3 sessions:
- John P., Universal Studios Hollywood
- James W., Houston Community College
- John M., Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta Int’l Airport
IFMA World Workplace Highlights: Learning Sessions
City of Wilsonville: Breaking the Status Quo with Mobile Dashboards
At IFMA World Workplace I helped Matt and Javid share the story of how they achieved significant savings and productivity boosts for Wilsonville’s Public Works department.
Like many facilities pro’s, Matt Baker, Facility Supervisor at the City of Wilsonville, had seen the promise of taking his facilities information digital. But that promise was left unfulfilled. Even after digitization, the information system remained fractured. He and his technicians still had to thumb through plans, codes and cut sheets.
Then they implemented ARC’s facility management software. The difference, they said, was “night and day.”
Interactive Dashboards to Manage Facilities Information
I’m on a mission to make life easier for facilities professionals. And at this learning session, it was standing room only. So, it was incredible to see that so many people wanted to learn how to improve their facility information management. I was honored to have the opportunity to show everyone all the benefits of organizing facility documentation into an active, central archive.
Compliance and Safety Breakthrough: iPad Facilities Apps to Transform Government, School and Hospital Information
I enjoyed hosting an interactive discussion to show how technology helps organize facility information like warranties, as-builts, and compliance documents Government, schools and healthcare facilities face very different challenges. But when it comes to information management, there is a surprising amount of overlap. Everyone faces productivity and collaboration challenges caused by disjointed information systems.
